FOUNDER

Max Schloemann is a dedicated medical malpractice insurance broker and the founder of MEDPLI. He specializes in providing competitively priced Medical Professional Liability Insurance (MEDPLI) solutions for private practices, doctors changing jobs and physicians across all specialties. Max understands the diverse needs of solo, small, and large medical practices and provides each of his clients with unique and individualized attention.

Max graduated Magna cum Laude from Southern Illinois University College of Business and was named the Outstanding Management Senior. His career in medical malpractice insurance began in 2008 with an industry-leading firm, where he continued to cultivate his interests in healthcare and small business until he realized their perfect intersection – private practice.

He founded MEDPLI in 2017 to help private practice physicians as well as doctors who need tail insurance navigate the complexities of medical malpractice insurance in the new era of healthcare and provide them with the level of service and expertise they deserve. Since then, Max has been saving his clients thousands of dollars on their medical malpractice insurance premiums and helping doctors, surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and healthcare professionals launch new medical practices across the country.

Max supports the spirit of entrepreneurship and recognizes the value that private practices provide to patients, practice employees, and communities. He appreciates the healthcare industry’s pleasant mix of humanity and business and admires the dedication of healthcare professionals – his wife, Kristen, is a Physician’s Assistant and teaches in Southern Illinois University’s Physician Assistant Program.

In his spare time, Max enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 kids. His hobbies include gardening and hiking the Shawnee National Forest, where hundreds of plant species and sandstone rocks from ancient melted glaciers line the many trails. He enjoys the beautiful views, fresh air, and good company of the golf course and hopes to play until he’s too old to walk.

AGENCY MANAGER

Mary Kate Herman is the agency manager of MEDPLI. She enjoys helping find flexible insurance solutions for healthcare professionals that save money and meet their medical malpractice insurance needs. Mary Kate’s collaborative enthusiasm, efficiency, and attention to detail make finding the right policy easy.

Mary Kate graduated from Southern Illinois University College of Business. Before joining the MEDPLI team, she learned how to quickly and expertly meet her clients’ needs in banking. She also worked for the Walt Disney Company, where she delighted in going above and beyond to create magic moments for people from all over the world.

Mary Kate joined the medical malpractice insurance industry to provide that same level of individualized care to finding the most valuable insurance solutions for busy healthcare providers. She appreciates the opportunity to work with clients across the country to ensure their complete satisfaction.

In her spare time Mary Kate enjoys visiting national parks with her family. She also enjoys playing the piano, watching sports, and reading.
